Proxy Group: One Proxy Port for Many 4G/5G Modems

A Proxy Group puts several 4G/5G modems behind one proxy port. Your customers or tools connect to a single address and port, and XProxy sends the traffic through the modems of the group.

You need: the Premium plan or higher (Pricing) and at least one modem that is online in Proxy Management.

In short

One port, many modems

The group has its own port. The modems you add are the exits behind it. The port never changes when a modem does.

Randomize IP

On: every online modem serves the port, so you get a mix of IPs. Off: one modem at a time, the next one takes over if it goes offline.

Its own login

The group has its own username, password and allowed IPs, separate from your per-modem proxy login.

When should I use a proxy group?

  • One address for a tool. Your bot or browser profile needs one proxy address, but you want the traffic to use several mobile IPs.
  • A backup modem. Put two or three modems in a group with Randomize IP off. The first online modem serves the port. When it drops, the next one takes over.
  • A rotating proxy port. Put many modems in a group with Randomize IP on and send your scraper to one port.

You want every customer to have their own port and their own data limit instead? That is the Selling Platform.

How do I make a proxy group with one port for several modems?

Step 1 of 5

Open Proxy Group and click Add New

Open Proxy Group in the left menu, under Proxy. The list shows your groups. Each row has the Primary Port 2 customers connect to, the Port Type, the group login Auth (User:Pass:IP) 3 and the Child Positions 4, the modems behind the port.

Click Add New 1 to make a group. A row has four actions 5: Detail, Edit, Config and Delete.

A modem counts as online when it has a public IP, is not rebooting or being reset, and passes the ping check. New groups start with Randomize IP on. You can change it later: click Config on the row and tick Enable IP randomization.

How do I change or delete a proxy group?

  • Config changes the login (username, password, IP Auth) and Randomize IP. The modems and the port stay as they are.
  • Edit opens the same window as Add New. You can add or remove modems and change the login and Randomize IP. The port and the proxy type cannot be changed once the group exists. To use another port, make a new group.
  • Delete removes the group from the list. The modems keep their own proxies.

Open the group's Detail and copy the Rotation Link. It looks like http://BOX-ADDRESS/TOKEN/reset_group?proxy=BOX-ADDRESS:30010. When something calls it, XProxy rotates the IP of every modem of that group. Ordinary rotation methods and timers still work on each modem: see how to change or rotate the IP and IP rotation settings.

A wrong token answers 401 Unauthorized.

FAQ

Which plan has Proxy Group?

Premium and Business. On a lower plan the page opens, but saving a group answers that the function is available on a higher plan only.

Can I mix HTTP and SOCKS5 in one group?

No. A group has one proxy type: HTTP IPV4, SOCKS5 IPV4 or HTTP IPV6. Make one group for each type.

What happens when a modem in the group goes offline?

XProxy takes it out of the group until it has internet and passes the ping check again. The group port keeps working with the other modems.

Do I need a login on the group port?

You set it yourself. Use a username and password, a list of allowed IPs, or both. With all three fields empty the port has no login, so only do that on a network you trust.

What next?

Check what your group serves, rotate it on a schedule, or use the port in your tools.
